ACE Young Cambridge English courses are fun, encouraging and confidence-building, packed with
interesting and stimulating activities. Learners at the Starters level begin by studying simple words
and phrases before gradually advancing on to using extended and more challenging language at the
Fantastic Flyers level.
The focus of language learning is to acquire all four communication skills – Reading, Writing,
Listening and Speaking, which are emphasized at each level. The courses conclude in a series of
assessments from the ACE Young Cambridge English Tests.
ACE Young Cambridge English (AYCE) courses are designed for children aged 7 to 12 years.
There are three base level courses:
- Starters
- Movers
- Flyers
After completing each base level course, young learners will progress on to a corresponding test
level course to prepare them for ACE Young Cambridge English Tests.
There are three test level courses:
- Super Starters
- Mighty Movers
- Fantastic Flyer
Designed to be approachable and highly motivating, ACE Young Cambridge English Tests are based
on topics, activities and language uses which are familiar to all children, regardless of their first
language. The syllabus and assessment aims of ACE Young Cambridge English courses are to give
a comprehensive picture of the learners’ overall level of English proficiency.
Learners are advised to first take a placement test to determine which course is appropriate to their
level of English language proficiency. The one-hour test can be taken at ACE Language Centre. At
the end of the course, they can opt to sit for the appropriate level test from Cambridge Assessment
English Examinations.
ACE Elementary Level A2 Key (KEY), formerly known as Cambridge English: Key (KET) KET for
Schools, is a great exam to take if you’re new to learning English. A2 Key is Cambridge Assessment
English examination which recognizes the ability to deal with everyday written and spoken English at
a basic level. There are many other benefits to taking A2 Key:
This course is for beginners with basic English skills who are able to communicate in simple
situations and is designed to prepare learners for the A2 Key exam.

ACE Preliminary level English programme – B1 Preliminary, formerly known as Cambridge English:
Preliminary (PET), the English language exam that shows you have mastered the basics. B1
Preliminary is an examination for learners using daily written and spoken English at an intermediate
level. It covers all four language skills – Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. Preparing for the
examination is a popular way to develop and improve your language skills because it provides
practical language practice in a variety of daily study and leisure situations.
This course is for learners who have fully mastered basic English and have practical language skills
for everyday use. By the end of this course, learners will be taking the B1 Preliminary exam.
